HACIENDA HEIGHTS – Fresh off last week’s victory over Los Altos, Wilson High School beat visiting La Puente in a nonleague football game Friday night.

The Wildcats (2-1) were led by junior quarterback Josh Morales, who followed up his five-touchdown performance against Los Altos by accounting for two touchdowns against the Warriors (2-1).

Morales rushed for a 1-yard score and threw a 5-yard touchdown toss to receiver J.R. Nelson.

The Warriors took an early 7-0 advantage following an 11-play opening drive that ended in a 1-yard touchdown run by Jose Perez.

Perez had a solid night, carrying 25 times for 98 yards and two touchdowns, but 21 unanswered second-quarter points were too much for the Warriors to overcome.
